Three Reps Down
Vodafone Fijian 7s Team One won their semi-final against Warden Gold 28-5 during the Kukubati Resort Macuata Provincial Youth 7s tournament at Subrail Park in Labasa yesterday.

Vodafone Fijian 7s coach Ben Ryan has delayed naming the 16-member squad for the opening rounds of the 2015-16 World Sevens Series in Dubai and Cape Town to today.
This was because his three key players got injured during the two-day Nukubati Resort Macuata Provincial Sevens Tournament at Subrail Park in Labasa yesterday.
Donasio Ratubuli was injured during the semifinal against Wardens Gold while Amenoni Nasilasila got injured during the semifinal against Wardens Green and were taken to Labasa Hospital. Savenaca Rawaca was also injured during the pool games on Wednesday.
“I had in mind to have Ratubuli for Dubai and Cape Town because he trained well in camp and performed well in the tournament,” Ryan said.
“However, with the double fracture to his lower leg he is going to be out for a long time.
“Honestly I am personally disappointed and I just hope he recovers and be back for World Sevens Series and be part of our plan for the Rio Olympics.”
Ryan said he needs time before naming the team today.
However, he hinted a few that will be likely to be in the 16-member squad.
“Savenaca Rawaca is an un believable rugby and probably he will be the best rugby player in the world next year,” Ryan said.

“And then we have Pio Tuwai, Isake Katonibau, Apisai Domolailai and Viliame Mata. I can’t leave them out of the team.”

Ryan, Kauvesi join
Telecom Fijiana
Ryan and team manager Ropate Kauvesi will join the Telecom Fijiana 7s team in Auckland, New Zealand today.
Ryan said his participation was for three reasons.
“Firstly to give moral support and boost the Fijian women play well,” Ryan said.
“We don’t want any players to get red carded or gettinh injured.
“We are hoping they will win the Oceania 7s Olympic qualifier for the 2016 Rio Olympics this weekend.
“It would be a huge moment for Fiji to have another team qualifies for the Rio Olympics,” he said.
The second reason he stated was Samoa and Australia would be playing in the Oceania men’s competition.
“I will get to see these two teams who are key opponents in the World Sevens Series,” Ryan said.
“Thirdly, New Zealand got four warm up games and I will also get a chance to watch them play.”
