Costings That Don’t Add Up

An offer was given to a Government ministry to construct the temporary shelters at the Coronation Ground at Government House for the farewell and inauguration of the new President.
The quotation received was $70,000 and another government institution came-up with less than $10,000.Which one was offered the work?

Fire crackers still cracking after hours

For those who are not aware….here it is again. The use of fire crackers is only allowed between 5pm – 10pm. Only on Diwali day was it allowed up to midnight.
People found guilty of discharging fireworks outside the prescribed legal hours can face paying a fine of $400 or spend up to six months in jail.

Sad side of social media

A recent fire in Wainibokasi saw a house destroyed and a family’s Diwali celebrations shattered.
Meanwhile, some took to social media in a joking manner that the fire was the result of firecrackers while others followed suit with their rather racist comments.
Another user took a selfie with the burning house in the background while others took the time to have a laugh about it.
Really? What if it was your house on fire? Typical, just typical of some on social media.
