Timely Arrival: Foton’s View CS2

The time could not be any better to invest in a new 10 to 22 seater vehicle.
This is given that the Government has just announced a reduction in imports duty on these people movers. What better option than to go for Foton View CS2 high roof 16-seater van.
The new van has been recently introduced in the Fijian market by CarCity, a subsidiary of Tappoo Group.
The van would be an ideal investment for those running mini van business as it is spacious, and also has loading capacity for luggage.
The high roof also means the van does not give the impression of “the roof touching your head”.
Not only is it ideal for mini van, but also for companies where transport is needed to pick and drop staff members.
This week in our test drive, we review this latest van to enter our market.
The 16-seater (inclusive of driver and two front passenger seats) van comes with all the standard features and specifications you would expect from this sort of vehicle.
The engine is a 2.8L ISF Cummings Commonrail which is the same engine used in Foton Tunland. It comes in five-speed manual transmission.
Foton is one of China’s leading motor vehicle brands known for vans, trucks, buses, sport utility vehicles and agricultural machinery.
In Fiji, CarCity, a Tappoo Group company, has recently launched the brand and through its backup services, is confident to build the Foton brand name Fiji as well.

Features
The van comes equipped with dual airbag, fog lamps, power steering, central locking system with keyless entry and power windows.
It also comes with anti-lock braking system (ABS) and electronic brake distribution which are some key standard safety features in most vehicles.
The van also has reverse sensor which starts beeping when the van gets close to something. Given the size of the van, this safety feature is critical to ensure you don’t bump into something or someone whilst reversing.
And don’t worry, it also has FM/AM radio, CD player with a type C port and an auxiliary port.
Despite the size of the interior, the air-conditioning (especially in the current hot weather) is amazing as it keeps the entire van cool – and of course you.
Because of dual air-conditioning system, passengers at the back can angle the AC vent as per their choice – can either turn it towards or away from themselves.
The glove compartment is spread out in front and provides sufficient space for personal belongings.
Also the legroom space is sufficient – whether it be the driver seat or the two passenger side in front or at the back.
The back seats can be folded at the back as well to provide extra luggage space.

Interior and exterior
The seats inside the van are made of fabric and are quite comfortable. It follows the bucket seat concept so basically each passenger gets his/her own space and seat.
The digital clock together with the whole setup of the panel in front adds to the van’s design. On exterior, it’s looks are enhanced with 15 inch alloy mag wheels.

Verdict
The Foton View CS2 presents a good value for your money and especially now when the import excise on vehicles carrying 10 to 22 passengers has gone down.
Foton vehicles are now available from Foton CarCity showroom, located at 88 Jerusalem Road, Nabua, Suva.
All new Foton vehicles are backed by a 3 year/100,000km warranty in Fiji.
