West Car Show On Today

Welcome back fellow car lovers. The day is finally here. I am very happy to announce that the Car Show is on in the West today at the Namaka Public School grounds.
There are 18 trophies up for grabs so we hope your car is ready for the big show.
After 15 years Fiji Car Club is taking the event to the West for the people of the Western side to show the Car Club does not belong only to Central but all of Fiji.
We have noticed the Western car owners – especially the show and race cars – they don’t generally participate in events by FCC so we are taking the car show to them.
If this is successful, we will work hard to secure the public road in the West to organise a ¼ mile drag race in the West next year.
For the car show, about 15 cars have confirmed from Central Division to take part which is very encouraging to see because we all want Western car owners to be there to showcase their cars as well.
We have some great cars in the Western side – there are three Nissan Skyline R34s, a couple of Toyota Supra, and few others. We would love to have them all taking part in today’s car show.
For any cars to take part in this event – one has to be a member of FCC. But we have decided if somebody pays for new membership, their entry will be free otherwise it will be $50 per car for existing members.
These car shows are not for winning or losing but to show the people of Fiji the show cars that Fiji has to offer.
This is something unique that we will have a night car show as well. We will start at 3pm and finish around 8pm so we will have cars with lights and that will be something to look forward to.
We hope to see the western crowd in large numbers.

The past event
Meanwhile, the Drag Wars held the past week was not as big a success as we expected possibly because of Diwali.
We had only 18 cars which participated. A new lady champion was crowned who was Sandhya in her Kia Sorento.
The much expected showdown between Vicky Nath and Amol Singh did not take place because Vicky Nath had to pull out in the last minute because of mechanical issues in his Mazda RX-7 reg 1BAD7.
Vicky then had to drive his father’s RX7 for the showdown with Amol. Amol’s MR2 just edged Vicky’s car by just an inch at the finishing line.
