Rodu Hopeful Of Good Outing

Rewa will be hoping to make a good outing as the team departs tomorrow for the 2015 Pacific Cup in New Zealand.

Coach Marika Rodu said they have a tough pool ahead of them and a busy schedule but they will try their best to adapt and compete.

“It is going to be a hard week for us going into this tournament and we know that it will not be easy,” Rodu said.

“We are pooled with four tough teams and we have a tight schedule. We play a game on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

“That will be tough for us playing these teams one after the other but it will also be a good test for us.”

Rewa is pooled with Lautoka, USA All Stars, Auckland All Stars and Aussie All Stars.

With their average performance during the Rewa Galaxy National Football League, Rodu said it will be a good preparation for 2016.

“For us, our main focus is the National League; we want to build up from where we left off in the last season,” he said.

“This will be a good opportunity to test our players and get some experience out of this tournament to help prepare us for the upcoming season.

“However, despite the hectic game schedule, we will be going out there to do our best and win or lose, and we will be taking something back from this tournament.”

Rewa plays Auckland All Stars on Wednesday at 6pm, they then take on Lautoka on Friday at 10.15pm, USA All Stars on Saturday at 10:30am and Aussie All Stars at 7:15pm.

The games will be played at Bill Mckinlay Park in Auckland, New Zealand.
