Turnout At Training A Concern: Suva

The Suva team remain positive they can pull it together in time for the 2015 FMF Chow Games on Friday and Saturday at ANZ Stadium, Suva.
With a total of 245 athletes representing the Suva, Suva Athletics vice-president Nasoni Tuinaceva said athletes have not turned up for training.
“There are a lot of hiccups in our preparation for the Chow Games and it is unfortunate that this is happening so close to the start of the games,” Tuinaceva said.
“We have been using the Shop N Save Athletics Fiji competition as a preparation for the Chow Games but only around 100 students showed up.
“Training has been starting late and the athletes have not been showing up.”
Tuinaceva knows Suva will be the team to beat but their main aim is allow their athletes to give a 100 per cent performance.
“We are not worrying about the result, we have a big number so we just want them to do well and improve their personal best so they can develop.”
Four days to go
With just four more days to go until the prestigious event, Tuinaceva said the athletes were looking forward to competing.
“While good competition can be expected, winning is not everything, so we are just going out there to do our best because that is all we can ask of our athletes.”
