It was a dream come true for 14-year-old Awanshika Sharma after she scooped the Dux prize and four other prizes at the Kavanagasau Sanatan Dharm School prizegiving in Navosa last night.

Not just that it was a double delight for her after she received her awards from the Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.

She said it was a moment of joy because her dreams of achieving the Dux came true.

She wants to be a lawyer in the future.

Her parents Kamini Sharma and Avineh Sharma said no less could be expected from Awanshika.

‘She is the role model of her two younger sisters and we are very proud of her,” Mrs Sharma said.

Awanshika is also the headgirl and received the  leadership award as well.

“It was also a moment of pride for us all because none of us has ever met the Attorney-General and for Awanshika, Mr Sayed-Khaiyum is an inspiration and she is always amazed with his leadership skills.”

Awanshika also scooped prizes for second position and attendance in Year 8 and the leadership award and outstanding leadership trophy.
