Police Look For Alleged Lautoka Drug Farmer

The Fiji Police Force are looking for the person who is alleged to have been cultivating plants believed to be marijuana at Navutu, Lautoka.
Police are seeking help from members of the public to apprehend the suspect.
A team of Police officers yesterday uprooted plants believed to be marijuana ranging from 60 centimetres tall in Navutu, Lautoka, after receiving a tip-off.
Police chief operations officer and Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Rusiate Tudravu said the person was yet to be identified.
“It is indeed encouraging for the Fiji Police Force to note that more people are using the available help lines to assist in the detection of criminal activities,” ACP Tudravu said.
“All calls are treated with the highest level of confidentiality and with the setting up of the dedicated call centres operating on a 24-hour basis, we are optimistic more people will be helping put a stop to criminal activities within their own communities.
“This is part of Gauna ni Marau Operation which will end in mid-January.”
He urged members of the public with information to call Police on 919.
