Speaker Meets With Indonesian Delegation

Speaker of Parliament Dr Jiko Luveni, yesterday met with the delegation from the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia led by Tantowi Yahya (MP).
The seven-member delegation was honoured to meet with Dr Luveni despite the busy budget debates currently in session.
Dr Luveni welcomed the delegation and as the first from the Parliament of Indonesia, the visit symbolised the commitment to strengthen the bilateral co-operation between the two parliaments.
The delegation also extended an invitation to Dr Luveni to visit Indonesia next year as part of the Indonesia Fiji Parliamentary Friendship League.
A memorandum of understanding was also discussed and is expected to be signed soon between the two Parliaments.
The delegation also sat in during the afternoon session before meeting with the Minister for Foreign Affairs & International Co-operation, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola, at the Government members’ office.
