Dux Sweta Reddy Talks About Keys to Success

Sweta Reddy, 18, of Lovu, Lautoka says perseverance and determination are two key factors in success.
Sweta was named the dux of Jasper Williams High School yesterday in Lautoka.
She also scored the highest marks in the Fiji School Leaving Certificate examination last year and was the highest scorer in mathematics, English, Accounting, Computer studies and Economics.
She said she felt overwhelmed about her achievement.
“I want to thank God because He made me what I am today and also my teachers who supported me,” she said.
“It was exciting and a bit tough preparing for exams and after this I will further my studies in Accounting at USP.”
Proud mother Maya Reddy, 47, said she believed her daughter has earned it.
“I am very grateful and honoured because she has been working so hard for the whole of this year,” she said.
“Sweta was determined to achieve all this since Year Nine and today she has accomplished it.”
She said she didn’t find it surprising that her name was called out.
“This is because I saw her determination from an early age and she told me that she would receive all the awards.”
