Pure Magic launches Learning Hubs

Pure Magic International Business Solutions has just launched The Learning Hub – an innovative and collaborative way to help people at all levels within organisations in Fiji grow and thrive.

We commence this initiative with two year-long Learning Hubs – Leadership in Action and Emerging leaders– Sustaining the Future.

Learning and Development of your people a key strategy!

Many organisations with which we work tell us that developing their people is a critical strategy to their Organisation’s success and yet often many don’t have a systematic and closely monitored approach to growing their people as they may think they do (or what would like to.)

It becomes frustrating because the important concept of ensuring that your people thrive, at all levels, is what many Organisational development specialists believe is truly the only point of difference in so many organisations.

Many sell the same (or similar) products or services, many are even aligned regarding pricing and distribution – but for every organisation the real difference  they have is their people. Knowledgeable, energized and committed people will win hands down every time.

Building Capability – A framework for Managing Learning and Development

Learning and development does not stand alone.  It is part of the overall workforce development strategy on which people skills and competencies squarely rely. Building capability (of its people) is central to Organisational performance and requires a diligent and systematic approach to learning and development as an integral part of workforce planning.

Learning and Development must be a key management function.

What is Learning and Development?

Learning and development (L&D) is an Organisational strategy that articulates the workforce capabilities, skills and competencies required to ensure a sustainable, successful Organisation, that sets out the means of developing these capabilities to underpin overall Organisational effectiveness. Learning and Development in Modern day Times

In previous times, L&D was often mistaken for training, and was seen as a ‘nice’ thing to do. Sometimes necessary. Often located in HR, people went to L&D to be trained in skills they felt they needed (or their Manager did) and once trained, their problems would be over.  Until the next one arose.

This indicates a hap-hazard approach to learning and development, as opposed to a key and systematic way of growing people to help take the organisation forward and ensure it grows.

It’s time modern Organisations become more educated and serious about the role that workforce planning and Learning and Development play in helping them grow in profitability and ultimately, sustainability.

 

Conclusion

Don’t let your Organisation become a statistic.  If your Company is not big on L&D, re-think this.

It is critical that you grow your people, at all levels, consistently and strategically, in order to give you the competitive advantage.

If you don’t somebody else will.  And that will cost you.
