Tabadamu Rugby Club speedster Emori Waqavulagi and Yamacia RC prop Sevuloni Mocenacagi are the new faces in the Vodafone Fijian 7s  14 –member squad announced yesterday.

The team will participate in the first round of the 2015/2016 World Seven Series in Dubai and Cape Town next month.

Also making their return are Emosi Mulevoro, Nemani Nagusa and Viliame Mata.

Coach Ben Ryan said Waqa and Mocenacagi deserved to be in the squad.

“Emori Waqa has been a standout winger for Tabadamu in the local tournaments,”Ryan said.

“He’s been away in Sri Lanka, he is quick and he’s got a lot of guts.

“Sevuloni has been in and out of the training squad for the past 12 months and I’m delighted his hard work is working out for him.

“It’s also good to see Viliame Mata back and Nemani Nagusa, it’s great to have experience in camp now.

“Nagusa has been playing fantastic 15  rugby for Nadroga, he’s working hard and he keeps going to training.”

Ryan is satisfied with the fitness level of the players.

“Now it’s back to the World Sevens Series, the boys have been starting their training in the gym, months of gym work to get them a bit stronger, more powerful.

“We have had good few weeks of training with good level of fitness.”

Ryan  also acknowledges major sponsors Vodafone, Fiji Airways for assisting the team.

Vodafone Fiji chief marketing officer Rajnesh Prasad wished the team well.

“Vodafone is proud to be the name behind our 7s gladiators and we are confident that with the team’s hard work and dedication  they will deliver more memorable wins for our country and fans,” Prasad said.
