Parliament yesterday passed two motions moved by the Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.

To allow him move the motions, the Leader of Government and Minister for Agriculture, Rural Development and National Disaster Management, Inia  Seruiratu moved that Standing  Orders 34 and 46 were suspended  to allow Mr Sayed-Khaiyum to move his motion pursuant to Standing Order 133 and section 145 of the Constitution.

The Opposition members were against the motions, but they were passed.
