Playing softball throw for the first time was nerve- wrecking for Simione Koliloa of Nadroga Navosa,
But he was the happiest man at the ANZ Stadium in Suva after he won gold in the U12 category.
The Naboutini, Serua native has been participating at the FMF Chow Games in the past.
“I am really happy with my performance,”he said.
“I’ve been participating in the track events but this year I switched to softball which was a whole new sport for me. I want to try out a new event.”
Silver medallist Emosi Qarasaumaki said he was confident he would win in his first Chow Games.
“I would like to thank my family and teachers for supporting me and helping me,” he said.
Samisoni Vana of Macuata took home the bronze.
