Bodybuilding and Fitness Fiji (BFF) aims to send Jekesoni Yanuyanudrau to the Joe Weider’s Amateur Olympia in Gold Coast, Australia, this weekend.
And BFF is pleading for financial assistance from corporates, stakeholders and individuals to fund the trip.
“ Yanuyanudrau, 20, is young and has the potential to get a placing at the event,” BFF Maryann Ma’afu-Moss said.
“The international exposure will help develop him into a better athlete.”
Yanuyanudrua took part at the 2015 Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea and the 2013 South Pacific Bodybuilding Championship where he came first in the Junior category.
“We hope to receive Yanuyanudrua’s Australia visa on time to travel, “Ma’afu-Moss said.
“But our main challenge is obtaining financial support to ensure he competes in a international competition.
“A placing at this International platform means Yanuyanudrau becomes a professional bodybuilder. This means he can get sponsorship endorsements to promote and be the ambassador/ role model of the sport in Fiji.
“We’re quite excited about the potential to send Yanuyanudrua to this event and hope we can secure a financial sponsor for him. We appreciate any support we can get.”
