Avelina Navue of Suva Blues won gold in long jump event during Chow games at ANZ Stadium yesterday.

Avelina Navue of Suva Blues set the only record at the 2015 FMF Chow Games which ends at the ANZ Stadium last Saturday.
The 12-year-old took out the Under-12 Girls Long Jump with a distance of 4.79 metres beating the old record of 4.49m.
In second place was Losalini Vadua of Nadroga-Navosa and Luisiana Mataitoga of Suva Blues won bronze medal.
She was over the moon to win her fourth gold medal.
“I knew I needed to work extra hard in order to keep up my record,” she said.
“This is my favourite event but it’s getting harder every year. But hard work with the help of my parents, teachers and trainers, I was able to win gold.”
The Voua, Nadroga native wants to represent Fiji at a major event like the Pacific Games.
“I have been working so hard and trying to better my performance every year for the Chow Games.
“I really hope one day I can do my family proud by representing Fiji.
“For next year, I plan to work even harder and win my fifth gold medal and keep improving until I am older enough to represent Fiji.”
Navue won her first gold medal four years ago in the U9 Girls Long Jump back in 2010.
