Vodafone’s Boost Festivals Through Finance

It has been a year of festivities as Vodafone boosted eight municipal carnivals around the country through financial strengthening bonds in the spirit of togetherness for the communities.
Chief executive officer Pradeep Lal said: “Carnivals are a great way to bring people of the community together for a common goal of building a stronger nation through a unity of common purpose.
“For some of the townships this was first time in a long time that the councils were able to put together a festival of such a large magnitude.
“We have been able to support 8 towns with our sponsorships to stage their annual carnivals These festivals are not only for entertainment but an occasion and platform to share information, financial benefit to the retailers and importantly to provide a platform to mould confident and passionate young individuals as drivers of positive changes in society.”
The Minister for Local Government Praveen Kumar Bala said: “We acknowledge corporate organizations such as Vodafone for sponsoring events that unite the communities as one.
“The sponsorships for the festivals have given the opportunity to eight municipalities to initiate projects for the township and bring forth improvements to benefit the communities.”
Vodafone recognises the importance of supporting initiatives that work towards the betterment of individuals and the social good of the communities.
We are proud to have been able to provide the financial backing when approached by the councils and festival committees.
Through the funding, we have been able to contribute towards the charity chest for each of the municipalities and at the same name a Queen for each towns that carried on to vie for the inaugural Miss Fiji title.
Vodafone congratulates Miss Fiji; Zaira Begg, who won the queens category at the Vodafone Ba Riverside Carnival 2015 and went on to win the Miss Fiji title at the Miss Fiji Pageant.
Vodafone sponsored the revival of Tebara Carnival in Nausori, Coral Coast Festival in Sigatoka, Rakiraki Carnival and Levuka Festival.
Other festivals that Vodafone sponsored that were on-going were Gold N Water Carnival in Tavua, Hibiscus Festival in Suva, Friendly North Festival in Labasa and Ba Riverside Carnival.
