The acting Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum during the Fiji Chamber of Commerce Post Budget Forum yesterday urged the business community to invest into the health sector.

Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said: “The Health Ministry has been given an increase in allocation. This is so that we continue to invest in our health sector.

“That is very critical, most people that you talk to they will say in Fiji you can get a lot of things at a very good quality except health.

“We want to really leap forward in that area. There is recognition in that and apart for investing in the public health systems. We want to invest into the private health system.”

He added: “We have given a very generous offer or package if you invest into the health sector.

“This is the similar type of package which was offered to the tourism sector previously.”
