Excellent Games: Bower

Fijian Primary Schools Athletics Association was impressed with the 2015 FMF Chow Games held at the ANZ Stadium last week.
Association’s secretary Patrick Bower said it was good to be able to witness other districts step up to the occasion.
“The competition for the two days of the Chow Games was excellent; those districts outside of Suva really stepped up and gave the capital side a tough competition,” Bower said.
“There were areas and events that we thought Suva would have dominated in but they were challenged by districts such as Bua, Macuata, Ra, Lautoka, and Nadroga which really threw us off.
“But this goes to show that there has been a lot of development over the years since we have had these games especially in rural areas in the West, North and Central areas.
“The Games are definitely getting tougher every year and team managers and coaches have bared witness to that.”
Bower said though they had a few hiccups on the first day, the overall organisation of the the two-day event went smoothly.
“The Chow Games went well and on schedule,” he said.
“There were a few hiccups along the way but that is to be expected in any event. We need to look at the overall picture.
Nadroga Navosa won the girls’ category for the first time while Suva Blues retained their title as champions in the boys; division.
