It was a historical moment for Tamavua Primary School when two of its students, Reginald Kumar and Losana Sivonawaqa shared the dux award.

Reginald Kumar,13, aims to become a doctor when he grows up. He also received the best prize for Hindi and social science.

He   said it was really challenging especially when other students were aiming for the prize.

Now that he will be going to secondary school next year, he said he would continue to work hard to achieve his goals in reaching medical school.

He thanked his parents for their support.

The other dux award recipient, Losana Sivonawaqa, said she was not expecting the award. Losana, who is also the headgirl, received the literacy award.

She said she regarded Reginald as her biggest competitor and the prize was a stepping stone in reaching her goals.
