Yashita Wants To Work And Help Family

It doesn’t matter what I have to do in the future as long I am earning for the family, says Muanivatu Dream Kindergarten student Yashita Bhai.
The five-year-old was among 50 children who graduated as pioneers of Muanivatu Dream Kindergarten in Vatuwaqa yesterday.
“I am going to work hard for my family and help my parents when I get a good job in the future; I thank my parents and teachers for helping me; I will also miss all my friends,” she said.
“I am so happy to be graduating today (yesterday) and I can’t wait to go to Year One; learn new things and make new friends.”
“I love this school because this is where I have learnt many things like writing my name, drawing and make new friends; I will never forget this school,” Yashita said.
Teacher Keresi Rokokia said the kindergarten had just been established a few months ago with fifty students and the graduation ceremony was the first for the kindergarten.
“This is a milestone achievement; to actually see 50 children graduating is a blessing; the students are mostly from the nearby settlements in Vatuwaqa,” she said.
Chief guest and public relations co-ordinator at the Prime Minister’s office Epeli Vuase said Government recently approved the national budget for 2016; providing funding and resources to further develop the Early Childhood Education Programme.
“This will mean that more facilities such as buildings, training materials and staffing will be provided throughout the country to boost the development of this critical sector of the National Education Programme,” he said
