The Fijian Bowling team is aware of the task at hand on it quest to qualify for the 2016 Championships.

To qualify Team Fiji aims for a good finish in the 2015 Asia Pacific Championship which is currently held in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Mens Team coach Curtis Mar said bowls Fiji would have to finish in the top eight out of 19 Countries.

“Fiji has for the first time had the assistance of former International Coach for world Champion countries like Australia, Scotland and Malaysia Coach Robbie Dobbins.

“The Australian Hall of Fame inductee has spent a few weeks assisting with preparation of the team in Fiji and has been with the team since their arrival into New Zealand.

“Robbie’s inclusion into our preparation has been excellent however we believe that full benefits of his coaching abilities will be a more long term benefit,” Mar said.

His inclusion for this championships has been to introduce a more professional/ scientific approach to preparation of a team and to help with improving individuals skills.

“As such Robbie has been working on some of the minor things to help with consistency and accuracy in line.

The team will be competing with New Zealand, Canada, Hong Kong, USA and Malaysia to qualify.
