Behind The Scene

Frantic activities are going on behind the scene to counter the findings of the internal inquiry into the controversial Gaunavinaka Report about governance of the Opposition Office.
If the management board remains resolute in implementing the findings and the recommendations of the disciplinary committee then we can expect some fireworks.
There are those who will challenge the board every step of the way. So tomorrow is a big day for SODELPA.
If it can resolve its differences, then it will bring back on track its 2018 general election preparation.
Those who want change know what it takes to give FijiFirst a credible challenge.
But if they don’t get their way they could jump ship or quit politics altogether because it’s all a waste of time.

Barred? What?
So there’s this story circulating in New Zealand media – where else – that a Fijian magazine is barred from attending Government events.
Fact: The magazine in question has not been published for a long time.
Fact: It does still have a Facebook presence filled mainly with press releases rather than the bold journalism promised by its founder.
Fact: The Department of Information is totally puzzled by the claims made by this outfit’s “acting editor” broadcast from New Zealand.
What ban? is the question being asked.
Another question might be why some NZ news media are so quick to rush to report anything negative about Fiji? Like this little piece of nonsense.
