Twenty-two-year-old Alifereti Veitokani has finally materialised his dreams after being selected in the Vodafone Fijian 7s team to Dubai and Cape Town next month.
Veitokani was called in to replace Emori Waqa in the 14 member squad.
“I am excited and happy to be part of the team; for the past weeks of training it was tough because switching from 15s to 7s was a huge impact but I managed to get through.
“I am looking forward to my first overseas tournament especially playing for Fiji; I know it’s every boys dream to don the Fiji jersey.
“I am lucky to be part of this team and I would like to thank God for giving me the strength to prove myself,” Veitokani said.
The Lomainasau, Tailevu lad plays for Nadroga Rugby and vows to prove himself to the coaches and to every Fijian fan in the world.
“I would like to thank the coach for Nadroga for having faith in me, and I know that my passion for rugby never ceased but kept growing.”
The former Ratu Kadavulevu School played for Hideaway Hurricanes before joining BLK Nadroga team.
“When I was in Ratu Kadavulevu School I pushed myself to the limit trusting that I will make it through.”
