Leadership Training Manual Changed
Revising the leadership and management training for local level leaders’ curriculum was an important national strategy, says United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) representative Rusiate Ratumaiyale.
He was presenting the revised Strengthening Citizens Engagement in Fiji Initiative (SCEFI) draft curricular during a workshop for the Roko Tui at the Friendly North Inn in Labasa on Tuesday.
“The newly-introduced draft curriculum would develop an easier understanding for the effective leadership and good governance training facilitators,” Mr Ratumaiyale said.
“It aims to be understood within a maximum period of two days when revised by the facilitator.
“Hence, if the facilitator cannot make it to a training that they are expected to, the second-in-command facilitator can easily pick up the workbook, read and understand what needs to be taught.
“So instead of wasting time more people are reached at a wider range with no limit in preparing more responsible local level leaders.”
He said that the proposed curriculum draft would help change leaders’ mindset to promote safety and development within a certain community.
