Following on from the three awards the past year, the Rosie Group is finalists in four of the categories in the ANZ-sponsored 19th Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards.

The Rosie Group has been shortlisted in for Accommodation Quality (Malolo Island Resort), Accommodation Luxury (Likuliku Lagoon Resort), Destination Marketing (Rosie Holidays) and Tour and Transport Operators (Rosie Holidays).

In the 2014 season, the Rosie Group had won awards for Transport Facilitators (Rosie Holidays), Accommodation Quality (Malolo Island Resort) and Accommodation Luxury (Likuliku Lagoon Resort) .

The Board of Trustees and Organising Committee of the ANZ Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards released 47 names of the shortlisted finalists yesterday.

These are for 10 categories of the awards.

The 2015 ANZ Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards will be held at the Denarau Convention Centre on Friday February 19.

The committee said the 2015 awards season has again received impressive applications for all categories.

Following on from the 2014 precedent, where initial scoring has been very close, some categories have more than three applicants short-listed for the next round of judging.

The continuation of this approach again ensures the awards assessments are as thorough, fair and transparent and as logistically possible.

The newly-introduced Individual Categories that includes, Fiji Tourism Pride, Emerging Tourism Leader and Tourism Leader have been submitted to a separate panel of industry leaders and experts.

The panel is headed by an independent chairperson with broader business focus for judging, this short-list will be announced in due course.

The Trustees welcomed some first-time ANZ Awards’ entrants to the shortlist, as well as previous years’ winners and entrants.

Trustee and Chair of the Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards Organising Committee, Olivia Mavoa, said: “It was very pleasing to note the quality applications submitted from the different categories.

She said judging of shortlisted applicants has already commenced.
