The medical certificate belonging to the man who was alleged to have raped a nine-year-old girl in July was tendered at the High Court in Suva yesterday. Laitia Nalawa, 31, who is charged with one count each of burglary, theft, assault with intent to commit rape and rape, appeared before Justice Salesi Temo.
The defence lawyer yesterday informed the court that Nalawa had been examined by a doctor at the Suva Remand Centre.
The doctor was present in court and also agreed to the request by Justice Temo if his recommendations in the accussed’s medical certificate could be implemented.
Nalawa has been further remanded in custody and the case has been adjourned to next Thursday – December 3.
