The Education Minister, Mahendra Reddy, told the Lomary community that the Bainimarama Government has dismantled all policies which made education the domain of only the rich and elite.
Speaking at the awards ceremony at Lomary Catholic Primary School on Thursday, the Minister noted that successive governments in the past perpetuated a system of education which was only accessible to children originating from well to do families.
He said past governments only paid lip service towards addressing the plight of the ordinary Fijians.
The Bainimarama Government has dismantled these policies. Education is now for everyone.
One of the objectives of the Government is to make Fiji an educated society.
