President Applauds Graduates’ Achievements

The President Major-General (Ret’d) Jioji Konusi Konrote, reminded Fulton College graduates to work towards the common goal of humanity.
He made this keynote address while officiating as a chief guest with his wife Sarote Konrote at the Fulton College graduation in Sabeto yesterday.
Fulton College is a Seventh-Day Advertist Church University College.
The President was honoured that his first speaking engagement as Fiji’s President and the Head of State was to congratulate the graduating class from a faith-based institution.
“Well done. My joy and appreciation today is all the more profound and that I am engaged with an institution that helps to prepare young people from institution perspective to enable them to contribute positively in progressing our beloved nation to a peaceful and prosperous Fiji as one nation, one people and one destiny,” Mr Konrote said.
The President also urged the graduates to leave their institution and make the most of their newly-acquired knowledge to wherever they work in.
“You have endured many sacrifices, all the hard work over the years and especially this year your vision, plans, commitment and the discipline that you have developed have now paid off.”
Mr Konrote thanked parents and board members for their continuous support .
“The valuable support from your families and loved ones has now just been rewarded with your graduation today. I would like to acknowledge and commend your parents and guardians for their support.
“The efforts of the managements, principals, the teaching federation, Fulton College has helped prepare you for the workforce and it has now concluded with your successful graduation,” he said.
“As the former Government Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relation I know that all Government aspires for young people like you is to be educated and to return contribute positively to the socio economic development of your respective countries.”
The university college’s principal Associate Professor Stephen Currow wished the graduates well in the future career.
“I congratulate you graduates for completion of the requirements of this programme.
“This is a weekend of celebration for you, your families, your church and your sponsors.
“Thank you for choosing Fulton. It has been a pleasure to serve you throughout your time as a student,” Mr Currow said.
116 students graduated yesterday.
