What happened: Tonga got off to a bullet start in the opening rounds of 2015 Oceania Rugby Junior Trophy after their 81-0 victory over Vanuatu at Buckhurst Grounds yesterday.
The Tongans outmuscled their opponents and ran in seven tries in the first half with Sione Tongatu’a scoring a double, Huelo Sili, Antonio Kata, Sione Tuipulotu, Bradley Keuila and Captain Patelesio ‘One’One scoring a try each. Flyhalf Afeafe Lokotui kicked three conversions and One’One successful with one. Tonga led 43-0 at halftime.
The Tongans lifted momentum in the second half as they were simply unbeatable.
The Tongans scored six tries in the second half with a try each to Huelo Sili, Pita Siale, Hufangahau Latu, Moa Maliepo, Sione Tui’pulotu and Siaosi Tonga and captain ‘One’One was successful with three conversions. Fulltime: Tonga 81-0 Vanuatu.
Big play: The Tongans were simply too strong.
Star turn: Despite the loss Vanuatu did not give up fighting until the final whistle.

Tonga assistant coach Ofa Topeni said: “We were not tested against Vanuatu and there are a lot of areas that we will need to work on especially our discipline.
Vanuatu head coach Sablan Bernard said: “We prepared well our players gave their best but Tongans were bigger and strong.
“We will need to work on a lot of areas especially our defence.”
