Son Adds To Family History

Thirteen-year-old Rodman Charan certainly made his father proud by following in his footsteps when he received the Dux Award for Khemendra Central School in Savusavu.
Rodman’s father, 52-year-old Hari Charan, expressed his joy when his son scooped the school’s Dux Award.
“It’s history for the family that he’s following my footsteps since I was also a previous dux recipient in the same school.”
Mr Charan said his son was a hardworking student who committed time towards his studies.
“He studies from 7-9pm and he was always confident that he would be the school’s dux because he felt he did well during his exams.”
Proud dux Charan said he was thankful for his parentsw and teachers’ support that has been guiding him to achieve his dreams.
Meanwhile, the chief guest at the prizegiving was special administrator for Labasa/Savusavu Town Vijay Chand, who is also a former student of the school.
“As a former student of Khemendra, I feel proud to share sentiments of being part of that huge Khemendra fraternity and to appreciate how much changes the school has undergone,” Mr Chand said.
He added Khemendra Central has indeed contributed to the nation by producing dynamic scholars and citizens who have become great leaders.
