Cecil’s Nakasi Lions got off to a good start on their debut as they won their first game beating Chelsea FC 1-0 at the Rooster National Club Championship at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori yesterday.
The winning goal came from Vodafone Fijian Under 23 rep Tevita Waranaivalu in the 40th minute.

Fiji Football Association media officer Avikash Chand said the standard of football shown by the clubs was impressive.
“It was an interesting first day of competitions and what we are really pleased with the standard of the game,” Chand said.
“The way these teams played, you can clearly see that they have up their preparation and hard work is paying off.
“There was only one red card shown during the day and that shows that teams are disciplined.”
With Bureta FC and Lokia United winning their first games comfortably, Chand said they have a chance of being in the CC next week.
