There could not have been a better birthday gift for Lusiana Vakabua than being recognised for her 15-year contribution to the Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort.

The beautiful and friendly-natured Mrs Vakabua, who turned 47 last Saturday, was honoured to receive a Certificate of Appreciation for her contribution to the resort.

She had served as an employee during the times of the old Reef and later joined the new Outrigger resort in 2000.

“I started with Outrigger as a front office staff and worked in that department until 2013,” Mrs Vakabua said.

“In mid 2013 I moved to the reservations department where I work with travel agents and take bookings.”

Mrs Vakabua is married with two children and is delighted to be part of the Outrigger and the tourism industry.

One of her fondest memories was during the closure of old Reef where Geoffery Shaw, an owner of the resort, told the employees that in place of this resort, there was going to be a bigger property.

“I am extremely proud to be part of this industry and I wish it more success in the future.”

Mrs Vakabua received her certificate from the chief guest, Acting Prime Minister and Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, last Saturday.
