The Fiji Chemicals Sigatoka District Hospital Charity Golf raised $70,000 yesterday.

Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort general manager Peter Hopgood said the funds would be used to construct a helipad at the Sigatoka District Hospital.

“The main aim is to raise money for the helipad,” Hopgood said

He said the Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association’s Coral Coast Chapter had raised funds for a good cause.

“It is important we support our community and the hospital is a big part of our community as we need to have a good health facility,” Hopgood said.

He said as general managers of resorts in the Coral Coast, it was their responsibility to look after the community.

Members of the Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association’s Coral Coast Chapter and tourism industry stakeholders including Rosie Holidays and Pacific Destinations participated in the event.

Coastal Rentals won the tournament, Fiji Link was second and Shangri-La Fijian Resort settled for third place.
