Nine Witnesses To Take Stand In May FICAC Case Alleging Theft

Nine witnesses are expected to take the stand from May 2 next year in relation to an alleged theft case by former civil servants.

Viliame Elder and Lorence Kumar, former employees of the Ministry of Education, are charged with one count theft. They appeared alongside Apenisa Nodrayaca, who is charged with one count of aiding and abetting theft. All three accused appeared before Magistrate Waleen George at the Suva Magistrates Court.

Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) lawyer told the court that one of the witnesses in the case was away in New Zealand and would return by April next year. She then asked for time to await his return, which was granted. The case was adjourned to May 2 next year for hearing.
