In their bid of raising awareness through music, the Fiji Corrections Service band yesterday launched its first recorded music album.
The Fiji Corrections Band officer-in- charge Atonio Lolo said the album consisted of 11 songs that were originally composed by the band members.
“The songs are about Fiji, the services we provide and giving inmates a second chance,” Mr Lolo said.
“This is also a means of providing awareness to the communities about the need to give second chances to our inmates.”
The album is titled, ‘Vuravura Sa Muloci Au’.
The album, Mr Lolo said were stages of their plans.
“Inmates are good poetry writers so we are starting off here by writing our music ourselves before they might be involved as well in the future.”
The CD will be available from all Fiji Corrections Service centres around the country from the 12th of this month at $20 a copy.
