It was a proud moment for three students who graduated with Certificate in Theology from Saint John the Baptist Theological College in Suva, yesterday.
Mosese Nasamaki, 26, Leo Latianara, 27, and Joseph George, 41, expressed happiness after their graduation.
Mr Nasamaki said: “It was one of my dreams to become a priest. I had always wanted to become a priest when I was young.”
Mr Nasamaki said he was inspired by one of his mentors while studying in Basden College, the Anglican Church’s school at Newtown, Nasinu.
Joseph George, meanwhile, said: “I am very thankful to my father for my achievement today. He inspired me to become a priest and it was his dream to see me become a priest,” he said.
His father died last year.
“He would have been very happy today seeing me graduate,” Mr George, who has been appointed as a priest at St Christopher’s Home in Naulu, said.
Mr Latianara said he struggled to become a priest.
“I am happy that my three years of hard work and sacrifice has paid off,” he said.
They will be ordained as deacons on December 31.
