If you happened to be walking by or were at the Suva Market yesterday, you would have no doubt heard the tunes of what is only the beginning of Christmas season.
The market was the hub of laughter and music as vendors along with members of the Wheelbarrow Boys Association came together to celebrate their Christmas party on Wednesday.
Wheelbarrow Boys Association president, Jone Vakasa, said the celebration was a way in which both associations could celebrate and recognise their achievements and hard work throughout the year.
“We are celebrating with the market vendors today.
“It has been a fun-filled year for us and also challenging as well,” Mr Vakasa said.
“We are grateful for the many partnerships we have made with various ministries and corporate entities throughout this year and this is to be celebrated.”
Mr Vakasa said they were also thankful to the public for utilising their services throughout the year.
“When we publicly have this celebration, it is a way to thank the public for using our service enabling us to earn money throughout the year,” he said.
More than 100 people were part of the celebration.
