TOTAL marks its Day of Service

About 50 TOTAL (Fiji) Limited head office and depot staff members yesterday experienced a day out serving customers at various TOTAL service stations around the country.

This is TOTAL’s Day of Service where a day is taken out every year for head office and depot staff to do this globally.

TOTAL (Fiji) managing director, Martin McCarthy, said it’s a way of getting them to actually understand to be at these service stations and serve our customers.

“It is one thing to sit comfortably in AC and do their job on a day to day basis,” he said.

“But to actually stand behind the counter and serve customers and be nice to people or be out in the sun and fuel cars – they need to understand what it is because that’s our business.

“This is the face of TOTAL to our customers. People see this as TOTAL so not what they see at the head office.

“This is part of our business in Fiji and they need to understand what it means to do that. This is where their wages comes from also.”

In terms of customer service, Mr McCarthy said if customers were unhappy about services at any of their outlets, they can always lodge a complaint.

“They can tell us if the service is not as per their expectation. If customers don’t tell us, we can’t do anything about it to improve,” he said.

Business operations

Meanwhile, Mr McCarthy confirmed ongoing investments around the country in setting up new service stations.

He said by the end of next year, they hope to have 40 service stations around the country. Currently TOTAL has 34.

“The business is growing well. This year has been good. We are opening more new stations and opening new shops,” he said.
