Oour Men Top Pool A

The Vodafone Fijian 7s team topped Pool A after being unbeaten on Day One of the World Sevens Series in Dubai yesterday.
Ben Ryan’s side got off to an impressive start, scoring nine converted tries through nine different scorers in their 63-14 victory over Canada in the opening match of the day, before victories over Japan and Argentina, which set the tone for an enthralling day one with lots of thrills and spills in the Dubai sunshine.
Fiji thumped Argentina 28-0 in their final pool yesterday. The national 7s side continued to show their great offloading skills and support play through a clinical defence and attacking strategy.
Seremaia Tuwai scored the first two tries in the first-half to increase his tournament tally to four tries. Fiji led 14-0 at halftime. Isake Katonibau scored the opening try in the second-half while the final try of the match was scored by Emosi Mulevoro.
Fiji beat Canada 63-14 in their first pool match, beat Japan 21-17 and Argentina 28-0 to book a berth in the Cup quarterfinal against Australia.
Ryan continuously reminding the players to make all tackles count.
“Vamalua (slow down) is good one man one tackle, players coming on the field you need to maintain possession and strengthen defence,” Ryan said.
