PNG Finish With A Win
Vanuatu under 20 suffered another defeat against PNG during Oceania Rugby Junior Trophy at ANZ Stadium yesterday.

What happened; Papua New Guinea finished in third place in the Oceania Rugby Junior Trophy qualifiers after walloping Vanuatu 80-7 at the ANZ Stadium yesterday.

The PNG side looked more determined as they were able to execute their game plans.

PNG led 34-7 at the half time with Zion Reto,Lindsay Yabone,William Tirang, Robin Loma, Shane Auakai and Eugene Ivankin scoring a try each and Richard Aitsi was successful with two conversions.

Vanuatu managed a try in the first half through Dick Taiwia and Malau Manaroto was successful with their conversion.

PNG continue their dominance in the second-half as they lifted intensity kept to their game plan seeing Lindsay Yabone,Zion Reto, Jimmy Gissua,Ricky John, Joe Moke, Graham Karepa scoring a try each with full back Eliud Hosea scoring a double and Aitsi was successful with three conversions.

Big play; PNG played well and were strong upfront.

Star turn; Vanuatu displayed a gutsy performance and never gave up.

Comments; PNG captain Bradley Kelegai said: “We will go back and try to work on our skills focus on set pieces and structures, we have really learned a lot from playing together.”
