Slow Start For Our Men

The Fiji Presidents and Warriors men’s hockey teams lost their first round of matches in the Fiji Invitational Series at the National Hockey Centre yesterday.
The Fiji Presidents lost to Australia Country 1-5 while the Fiji Warriors side were thumped by New Zealand Residents 0-8.
Coach Shaun Corrie said the tournament was a good opportunity to develop young players.
“We lost both our games; there were a lot of young players in the side and this is an opportunity for us to develop our young players,” he said.
“We will move on and hopefully we will come back in the second round.”
The Fiji Warriors play Australia Country while Fiji President’s take on New Zealand Presidents today. Other fixtures see Fiji Presidents taking on Fiji Warriors women’s side while Australia Country plays New Zealand Presidents.
