InterContinental Fiji Hosts China Trade Day

The InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa proudly hosted the Tourism Fiji China Trade Day at the resort the past week.
The event was an opportunity to showcase what Natadola Bay and the InterContinental Fiji has to offer for the Chinese market.
Director of Leisure Sales & Marketing, Hudson Mitchell, said: “This event gave us an opportunity to not only showcase the results of our IHG China Ready programme.
“But it also gave us the opportunity to promote Fiji as an authentic and enriching tourism destination that can cater for Chinese guests and meet their needs and service requirements.
“Over 100 staff was trained early in the year as part of our IHG China Ready programme.”
The resort provided 5-star luxury accommodation, conference meeting facilities and efficient services for 34 agents from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan as well as 17 Hotel & Resort suppliers.
The hallmarks of luxury service were in full display as the team ensured agents and suppliers together were captivated by the overall service, experience, beauty and location the InterContinental Fiji resort can provide for such events.
Tourism Fiji in conjunction with Fiji Airways, Rosie Tours and Tour Managers provided a unique opportunity for agents from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan to expand their product base with more Fiji suppliers.
The event focused on the growing Chinese tourism market to create and build networks and strengthen business relationships.
Mr Mitchell said the resort has invested into Chinese speaking TV channels, Chinese translated website, rolled out Chinese menus and refreshed mini bars to allow for Chinese teas.
He said they have also invested in Chinese speaking staff to be able to make the resort China-friendly.
“All of this combined with our amazing beach front setting makes the InterContinental Fiji an obvious choice for Chinese inspired events and travellers alike,” Mr Mitchell said.
