Lautoka lights up Sugar City Mall
Lautoka City Council chief executive officer Jone Nakauvadra said the lighting of the Vodafone Christmas tree would bring joy to the people in Lautoka City.
“The light from the Christmas tree resembles the light of the city. It brings the people of Lautoka together and the nation as a whole,” he said.
“We have been having Christmas trees for the people of Lautoka in the past years but this year’s Christmas tree is one of its kind and we thank Vodafone for it.”
He made this comments during the lighting of the Christmas tree by Vodafone Fiji outside the Sugar City Mall last Friday night.
“It is good to partner with Vodafone Fiji for this auspicious event which commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ in Bethlehem,” Mr Nakauvadra said.
He said it was the first time for Lautoka City to have a huge Christmas tree and he thanked Vodafone Fiji for the timely effort.
Mr Nakauvadra also said the lighting of the Christmas tree depicts the way forward.
He wished the nation and the people of Lautoka City a joyous Christmas and recommends the public to end the year positively.
Meanwhile Vodafone Fiji chief marketing officer Rajnesh Prasad said he was amazed with the big turnout of people for the event in Lautoka.
“We are happy to be with you all today and we wish you all a happy Christmas,” Mr Prasad said.
