‘Lonely Digger’ Back On Road

The ‘Lonely Digger’, which has been parked in the bushes for two and a half months near Malaka Airport, Vanuabalavu, is back on the road. Thanks to Coconut Wireless which highlighted the digger’s plight. A punctured tyre had grounded the machine, the only one on the island. A much needed rubber tube was shipped to Vanuabalavu for the tyre.  The question is: Why did it take this long?

Not shining

So this SODELPA Youth posted on social media: “We have a Sun that shines every morning and lightens up everyone and get ready for a new day.. But…Fiji has that Sun that darkens everyone’s day.”

What could this young fellow be talking about? Might this be the feud going on in their party? The future of the party certainly seems unclear! And there could be darker days ahead for some.

Police inaction

Seems some in the Police still haven’t caught on to the step up or step out message coming from their no-nonsense new boss Sitiveni Qiliho.

Reporter yesterday trying to verify road death toll numbers tried three in the force who would know, and should be keen to highlight this growing problem.

Two didn’t answer their phones. A third did, growled at the reporter for disturbing his day off, and then didn’t help.

Wouldn’t happen if you were calling the military.
