There will be no leave granted for Police personnel during the festive season, says Acting Commissioner of Police Brigadier- General Sitiveni Qiliho.

“This has been the norm in previous years and it would continue,” he said.

Brigadier General Qiliho said leave would only be given for special purposes.

He said the festive season coupled with the school holidays would make the season very busy and a strong Police presence was needed.

Brigadier-General Qiliho said people would like to enjoy their Christmas celebrations but there were some who would like to spoil it.

“The Police will be there to make sure that every Fijian enjoyed their celebrations.”

He said there would be a 24-hour presence of policemen on the streets and in the Police stations.

He assured the public that the Police would ensure they enjoyed their festive season’s celebration.

“The public can however help the Police by reporting any suspicious activity in their areas.”
