Please Look After Your Children

Parents present at the lighting of the Vodafone Christmas tree in Ba last Saturday were reminded to look after their children this festive season.
The Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Rosy Akbar made this plea while officiating as chief guest for the event. She said it was the time of the year when children were dispersed in towns without parental supervision.
“Christmas is the icing of the cake for the year; please look after your children in this festive season and don’t get caught up in the rush to prepare for Christmas,” Ms Akbar said.
She also reminded them to celebrate Christmas with love and care.
“This is a festival that brings us together and makes us stronger in our communities to tackle every hardship that may come.
“To all the men out there Christmas is the time to get your family together. Do not use harsh ways to resolve your problems,” she said.
The Minister said her ministry basically looked after women, children, elderly and the disabled and that all were important to them.
“It is our responsibility to look after our children and our citizens. We should all do this to build a compassionate and caring community. You should think of what the New Year brings for you.”
Ms Akbar thanked the Ba Town Council and Vodafone Fiji for making the event a successful one.
