Begg To Speak On Climate Change

Miss Fiji, Zaira Begg will speak on climate change in the 2015 Miss Pacific Islands Pre-Pageant Presentations and Interviews on Friday morning in the Cook Islands.
She will be the second contestant to speak following Miss American Samoa, Suluga Talofaalii Taliau who will speak on the environment.
This year’s theme is ‘Our Spirit of Adventure.’
The contestants started their week in Rarotonga with a church service at the Arorangi Cook Islands Christian Church on Sunday.
Also present during the church service was the Cook Islands Head of State, Tom Marsters.
They were traditionally welcomed after the service by Tinomana Tokerau Ariki, the paramount traditional chief of Puaikura.
The paramount traditional chief and the people of Vaka Puaikura then hosted the contestants to a Sunday feast at Au Maru Palace grounds next to the church.
The contestants were joined by Miss Pacific Islands Pageant executive director, Papalii Sonja Hunter, and the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant Host Committee President Clee Marsters, Committee Members, the respective chaperones, parents and supporters of the contestants.
Sunday’s programme concluded with the initial briefing of contestants at Club Raro Hotel, where they each had the opportunity to select their numbers in their order of appearance throughout the pageant events and activities
