Carpenters Fiji Limited continues annual tradition at MHCC

Carpenters Fiji Limited, the largest private sector enterprise in Fiji, hosted some children living with cancer at MHCC in Suva on Monday.

MHCC Complex manager Nitika Singh said: “The idea of having a Christmas party with cancer children was to give them an opportunity of a great party full of gifts, food, fun and an experience which they will cherish for the whole their lives.”

The Carpenters Fiji Limited Annual Christmas Party gathered more than 12 children living with cancer and   their parents at the MHCC Food Court.

Ms Singh said similar events had been lined up for other children with cancer, those at orphanages and senior citizens homes across the country.

“We have more events lined up for cancer children living in Lautoka and orphanages and a Sunday visit to the Senior Citizens Home to present them gifts and fruit hampers as part of our Christmas celebration.

“We will continue to organise events like this so that these kids will have the best Christmas memories,” she said.

This is the eighth year Carpenters Fiji Limited has hosted Christmas parties for children living with cancer.

Walk ON Walk Strong (WOWS) Kids team leader Fanny Fiteli said: “We are very grateful to MHCC for the eight years of hosting our Christmas party which have made them part of the WOWS family as well.

“We have 12 children who are here today and for those children who are still in hospital, their parents are here with us.

“We lost six kids last year. This Christmas party is to give the children the best food, fun and a great Christmas memory,” she said.
