President Konrote Welcomes FSM Envoy, Sebastian Anefal

The President, Major-General (Ret’d) Jioji Konousi Konrote, yesterday received the new envoy from the Federated States of Micronesia, Sebastian Anefal.
Mr Anefal presented his credentials to President Konrote at Government House.
The diplomat, who will join Fiji’s diplomatic ranks, has been a career civil servant.
He worked his way up the ranks in various ministries and departments. Mr Anefal has served as the Governor to the State of Yap and prior to his appointment was special consultant to the Governor.
He was educated in Yap State but completed his high school in Oregan, United States after receiving the American Field Service scholarship.
Mr Anefal was rewarded a full scholarship in Social Sciences which he completed at the Eastern Oregon State University, La Grande, Oregon. He is working towards attaining a Master of Arts from the University of Hawaii. He has represented his country on international organisations such as the Pacific Islands Forum, Asian Development Bank and the World Bank.
Mr Anefal, who will be based in Suva, is married with five children.
